South Korean Visa Process for English Teachers
The ESL candidates who have enrolled for the teach and travel TESOL certification program with American TESOL Institute are expected to bear the entire expenses involved in the processing of E2 Visa, the work visa for teaching job in South Korea.
The documents which are required for the visa processing are listed below:

Passport and its copy of the photo page

The original or the notarized copy of transcript

Resume along with a personal cover letter

A clear large photo

Four passport colored photos

Two reference letters

A notarized copy of graduation certificate or Diploma
You can collect the notarized copy of your Diploma from the nearby Korean Embassy and for that you need to produce your passport and original Diploma. You can also send these documents to American TESOL Institute for assistance in notarization.
The estimated cost for E-2 Visa procedure is $110 and the processing takes 18- 25 days. The school in Korea you will be joining will help you out with your visa processing. The school will file and submit your documents to the Immigration and sponsor the visa cost. This process will take 7-9 days. It is the school’s responsibility to provide you with a work visa in Korea once you are selected as an ESL teacher. The school usually sends a mail attaching the visa insurance letter to the teacher within three days of application. After getting the visa insurance number and letter, the teacher is expected to submit the following documents to the Korean Consulate:

This phase of processing will cost you $45 and it will take 3 more days. The Korean Consulate keeps the visa insurance letter and sends the E-2 Visa and stamped passport to the teacher. This phase of processing takes 1- 5 days.
